Memory & Dementia Support

Personalized Memory and Dementia Support in South King County

Magnolia Senior Care provides compassionate, individualized support for older adults experiencing memory loss, Alzheimer's disease, and other forms of dementia. Our caregivers focus on familiar routines, respectful communication, daily assistance, and a comfortable residential environment. RN-guided care planning helps our team respond to changing resident needs and maintain communication with families and healthcare professionals.

How it works

What families can expect.

Communication

Respectful, unhurried communication

Caregivers use calm, simple language, give one step at a time, and allow time to respond. They learn each resident's preferences, history, and cues so that care feels familiar rather than rushed.

Daily routines

Familiar rhythms through the day

Predictable times for meals, rest, hygiene, and activities can reduce confusion and anxiety. Routines are adjusted as a resident's needs and abilities change.

Personal care

Help with everyday tasks

Caregivers provide cueing, supervision, or hands-on help with bathing, dressing, toileting, and eating, based on the resident's care plan.

Safety awareness

Watching for changes

Caregivers watch for changes in sleep, appetite, mood, walking, or behavior that may signal pain, illness, medication effects, or progression, and report them so the care plan can be reviewed.

Family collaboration

Families stay part of the picture

Families and POAs share history and preferences, hear about meaningful changes, and are included in care planning conversations.

RN-Led Clinical Excellence + Family-Centered Care

The role of RN oversight

Sosena Mekuria, RN, guides care planning so the team understands each resident's needs and knows when to involve the resident's healthcare providers. Registered Nurse visits are scheduled according to resident needs and each home's care arrangements. Trained caregivers provide 24-hour resident support, and Magnolia does not provide 24-hour on-site nursing.

Good to know

Limits and fit

Dementia affects people very differently. Each home can only accept and continue to care for residents whose needs it can safely meet alongside the residents already living there. Some needs, such as care that requires a secured memory-care unit, may be better served in another setting. We discuss fit honestly before admission and as needs change.
